WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- The sun was slowly setting, sending an array of pretty colors across the sky and cooling the temperature a bit. San Diego was always at it’s most beautiful at this time of night, which was what brought Bianca out of La Bella Rosa hotel, dragging her feet along and letting the sound of her high heels hitting the pavement relax her. Since moving to San Diego, Bianca hadn’t had much time to herself between all of her duties within the mafia and hanging out with Carina and the Marino boys. In fact, the only parts of her new home that she had actually seen was the airport, the inside of the limousine that had taken them to the hotel, and the hotel’s lobby and lounge, which was exactly the kind of lifestyle she’d had in Italy and refused to have now that they had moved. Luckily, because of the new location, there weren’t as many things that needed her constant attention, and Don DeLuca had hired some others so that she was not expected to be at Carina’s side day in and day out. Of course, being with her best friend 24/7 wasn’t a bad thing in the least, but a break was always nice too. The only problem with that, however, was that sometimes Carina tended to get sick of always having someone by her side, which is why she had somehow managed to sneak away from Bianca and get herself taken away.
The day she’d disappeared was a day that Bianca would never forget. They had been walking back to La Bella Rosa after having spent the day shopping and were on their way back from going out to eat when Bianca had stopped for just a minute to adjust her shoe, and got up to see that Carina wasn’t with her anymore. Knowing that Don DeLuca would not be happy if she lost his daughter, Bianca had frantically searched everywhere for her friend, back tracking every step they had taken and searching just about everywhere she knew her friend would have gone. She understood the desire for some freedom, but she really didn’t think that Carina would have snuck away from her like that. After searching well into the early hours of the morning, the brunette had gone back to the hotel, knowing that she would have to face the Don soon enough. After that, Bianca had spent every single day looking for her friend, trying to figure out what had happened and figured that she had probably snuck away to have some time to herself and then got herself trapped. After a few days, however, the search had been futile and she’d returned home empty handed and clueless every night.
Now that Carina was back, things were better, but Bianca knew that Giovani was still going to blame her for Carina’s disappearance. They knew now that she had been kidnapped after sneaking away, a fact that made Bianca’s blood boil. She hadn’t seen her friend yet, but she knew that the girl was being taken care of by a doctor that Giovani had brought in, and in all honesty she didn’t really want to see Carina just yet. She had been worried sick about her, and really didn’t feel like seeing her all broken and bruised because she knew she was to blame for it. She had just been down to visit her father and was returning to her room when she noticed that the door was unlocked. Raising an eyebrow in confusion, the eighteen year old stepped through the door, and her deep blue eyes found Giovani sitting on the couch. Freezing up, Bianca lingered in the doorway and prepared herself for what she knew was coming.

he said calmly. "Come in. Have a seat." Giovanni was calm and collected. He was the mafia leader. He didn't need to scream or yell. In fact, it was his calmness that people had to be afraid of. "I think you know why I'm here." He cleared his throat, and then unbuttoned his sleeves and rolled them up as a three-quarter sleeve. "So, have you seen Carina yet? Have you seen what those pricks have done to her?" Giovanni raised his voice in the end. Remembering those scars on his daughter's body made his blood boil. "You know, Bianca, your father has worked for me before you were born. In fact, it was because of your father's loyalty and dedication to me that I decided to have you look over my daughter and heir to my business." He paused and waited for the words to sink in. "But this...this FUCK UP is unacceptable, Bianca. Tell me what I should do with you, huh? Do I 'fire' you? You and my daughter had formed a bond. She thinks of you as a sister. I can't make you two stop seeing each other. So, what do I do? Go ahead, explain how I should punish you." Giovanni was tired of hearing her excuses and explanation of what happened. He didn't care about that anymore. What he was concerned about was what to do next. [/ul][/blockquote]

WHEN YOU'RE AT THE END OF THE ROAD & YOU LOST ALL SENSE OF CONTROL ,& your thoughts have taken their toll , --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bianca had known that this was coming, and even though it wasn’t her fault she knew that blaming Carina wouldn’t go over well. The Don was still convinced that his daughter was the height of perfection, which any father would think, and Carina really gave him no reason to think otherwise. Bianca, on the other hand, knew that Carina desperately wanted a life outside of the Bella Rosa where she never had time to herself and always had to have someone accompany her wherever she went. Bianca could sympathise with wanting a semi-normal life, she really didn’t think sneaking away and getting herself kidnapped was the ideal solution. Part of her wanted to be mad at Carina for the situation she was now putting Bianca into, but part of her knew that it would only last a matter of time before she stopped being mad. She was, however, going to try not to give in and let up easily.
Given what had happened, the eighteen year old wasn’t surprised to see Don DeLuca sitting on her and Carina’s suite’s coach, and she walked into the room, went to hang up her jacket in the closet then sat down in a chair beside the couch. He wasn’t the type to yell or scream, and it was usually how calm he always was that scared people. If Bianca hadn’t known him for her entire life then she herself would have been extremely afraid. Of course, she was nervous because she already knew what he was going to say to her and feared for her job, but she didn’t have the fear that most people did when dealing with him. She really had no idea what she was going to say since the entire thing wasn’t her fault at all, but she couldn’t very well disrespect him and blame his daughter; he wouldn’t believe her even if she did. When he said that she knew why he was there, she simply nodded. “Yes, sir,” she said simply, trying to figure out what she was going to do to explain herself. When he asked her if she had gone to see Carina yet, she shook her head. “No sir, I haven’t. I was just told she’s back and the doctors didn’t want anyone to see her except you.” Then, she realized that she actually had no idea as to who had kidnapped her. “Forgive me for asking, but when you say those ‘pricks’, who exactly do you mean?”
After that, she nodded as he spoke. She was well aware that her father had worked for Don DeLuca since before she was born, and he had done his best to actually keep Bianca out of that part of his life. But of course, she and Carina had become friends and that sort of made it impossible. She understood was the Don was saying and she stayed quiet while he finished speaking. Honestly, she had no idea what to tell him to do with her. She was really just thinking that maybe she wouldn’t mind being fired so that she could stop having to risk her life every day for someone else and be able to live like a normal teenager, but then that might get her father fired too and she didn’t want that. “You know that I would never put Carina at risk, sir. We stopped for one minute so I could adjust my shoe and she snuck off. I spent the whole night looking for her and every day since then until now doing the same thing.” She sighed at this, knowing that saying it was Carina’s fault would get her in trouble but she didn’t care at the moment. “If you want to fire me then go ahead, but please don’t fire my father; I can handle it, but he may not be able to.” Then she silenced herself and waited to hear what was going to happen to her. he nearly shouted at her. "Those damn Irish decided to follow us here. Why can't they just leave things how they were back east? I swear, Bianca, I'm going to get them this time. I let them off too easy in the past. But, this is it!" Giovanni had lost his cool and stood up to calm himself down. He walked over to the window and looked out on the streets below. It was another slow, random day for everyone else. There were hardly any cars out on the streets. Bianca seemed okay with him firing her, which made him uneasy. "You want me to fire you," he asked, turning back around to face her. That might have been the easy option, but he couldn't just let Bianca go that easy. She had built a trust with Carina that wouldn't be matched if Giovanni brought in someone else. "No, Bianca, I'm not going to fire you or your father. So, you can calm down. It does make me question your loyalty, though." He walked over back to Bianca. "Here's what I want you to do. I want you to keep an eye on Carina, and I want you to do a better job than you did. Don't let her out of your sight. If she has to use the bathroom, I want you right in there, waiting with her. If she goes out with Tristan, as much as I trust the boy, I want you there with them. You can bring Tristan's brother or something. When she sleeps, I want you right there, on the floor, next to her bed. Got it?" Of course, Giovanni was going to post some more men on Carina. However, he was going to make them less visible than Bianca. Maybe it was the close bond that Carina and Bianca had that allowed Carina to be kidnapped. Maybe Bianca was too soft. He needed someone to keep an eye on Carina and Bianca so they could report back to him. "But, I want you to know that you're on probation. I'm going to keep a close eye on you. And, if anything happens on your watch. If you fuck up again, Bianca...I don't care who your father is and how dedicated he was to this business. I'm going to make sure you don't have to worry about taking care of Carina ever again." It might be a bit harsh to threaten a teenager with death, but he had to make the point clear. "Any questions?"
